How to make the "Tasks" text bold? I renamed the Control Panel Home to Tasks and I want to make it bold to get the Vista look.

eliVANCE NanamiMadobe I'll do it when I have time. But overall, there are more items that can't be port than those that can be port.
NanamiMadobe: Personally, I avoid virtual disks in VDI format which is specific to VirtualBox. I always use virtual disks in VHD format, which is universal. It is possible to open and modify the contents of a VHD disk from the explorer, unlike a VDI disk.

Did you guys see my images on comparing Windows 8 to Windows 10 look at the 2 images they are both using automatic colors, since Windows 10 does things differently compared to older versions of Windows.

I don’t know but can’t you just use xp mspaint and change the icon? yeah im stupid i did not follow this in step 7 where it says "7. If you are using 64-bit Windows edition, you’ll also need to replace both mspaint.exe and mspaint.exe.mui files present in “C:\Windows\sysWOW64” and “C:\Windows\sysWOW64\en-US” folders using the same steps as mentioned above." bruh

Files from Windows Vista and up require their .mui files to be present as well. The lack of them can cause unexplained failures. (Alternatively, you can merge the both into one)

How do I change the version string on winver? I do know how to change the number after "Version" by changing the "ReleaseId" value stored in "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion", but I have no idea how to change the full version string. (I'm on Windows 10 1809 by the way, I'm pretty sure you'd have to do something else if you're on Windows 7)

You have to edit String Table #4 of shell32.dll.mui

You have to edit String Table #4 of shell32.dll.mui Well, for some odd reason, whenever I try to view the contents of shell32.dll.mui, I get this error. If I try to open it from Resource Hacker's file picker, it won't show up in the list. Could this be caused by 7TSP replacing shell32.dll.mui?

View AttachmentDid you copy the file to yor desktop? You cannot modify a file directly from any folder inside the Windows directory (or sometimes the file won't even open at all, like in this case).

View AttachmentCopy shell32.dll.mui from default Windows Explorer to your desktop, modify that file, then, rename shell32.dll.mui and move the modified one back to C:\Windows\System32\en-US\shell32.dll.mui. This needs to be done because shell32.dll.mui and several other System32 MUI files don't show up in the open file menu for some reason, not sure exactly why. (And, no, this issue is not related to 7TSP, since I've never used 7TSP, yet I also have this issue)
