UPDATE, 9-27-2017: I regret to inform everyone that I recently received a DMCA claim from Microsoft on the installer for the Windows XP voices, so both of these downloads are currently unavailable. Unfortunately, I have no predicted date for when they will come back online, or if they ever will. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. UPDATE, 11/3/2022: Here is a download for the source of the original installers: DownloadI already posted this on EightForums, but I figured I'd share it here as well. Have you ever wanted to use the old text-to-speech voices (such as Microsoft Sam) natively on newer versions of Windows? Well now you can! I've put together an installer that will give you the text-to-speech voices from Windows XP: Download the Windows XP Text to Speech Voices Setup v1.3 (CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE)This installer includes Microsoft Sam, Microsoft Mike & Microsoft Mary; all working perfectly on Windows Vista and newer. And speaking of Vista, I also created an installer for Microsoft Anna on Windows 8 and newer: Download the Windows 7 Text to Speech Voices Setup v1.1 (CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE)This installer also includes the Chinese voice, Microsoft Lili, but she doesn't seem to be working for whatever reason. I'll update when I get her to work. EDIT: Lili should now work in v1.1 I also plan on doing the Lernout & Hauspie voices once I figure out how to get them to work (though chances are they'll only work with 32-bit software, due to the Lernout & Hauspie TTS engine never being made for x64). Enjoy!

So I downloaded the Microsoft Sam package, and I gotta ask: Is it supposed to be a .nsi? I thought it was supposed to be a .msi file extension?

Wait, did I upload the wrong file? Shoot, it's supposed to be in EXE format. The NSI is the source file. My mistake.
The link has been updated. It should now be an EXE download.

I was recently asked to provide the SHA256 hashes of the original installers, so here they are: WinXP_TTS_Voices_v1.3.exe b3222161855d2536ab087b8c13958ac4eb16e50fe273b4e27855abf6fcd0b5f9 Win7_TTS_Voices_v1.1.exe c59c5c5a573a5feb21e9be45cd690ace8068f86a16064c84345ee8a742dbc83a Additionally, for those who would prefer to build them from scratch, here is a download to the source for the installers: DownloadYou can use NSIS to compile them, and you will also need to obtain the necessary files from a Windows XP and/or Windows 7 machine as well in order for them to work. I've been meaning to release this for a very long time now actually, so hopefully this is useful. Edit: One little caveat I forgot to mention about Microsoft Sam specifically is that there is actually an x64 version of him (as weird as that sounds) so you will also need to grab that from Windows XP x64 Edition.
