I created this thread so that people post some good music players with good classic skins. It's better if they look like windows 98.

Not exactly a skin, but one of my favorites is MPC-HC.  If you want something similar to the Win98 player, this is one of the best options, imo. It's one of the more lightweight players I've used, and it performs pretty well. It can even use Windows Media Player codecs, if you have any installed. Just be sure you enable the classic toolbar in the settings, if you really want to complete the aesthetic. Also, for anyone who wants the old "Windows Media" bitmap (as seen in the screenshot) here you go: Windows Media Classic.bmp (18.55 KB) |

Gotta agree with ROB, MPC is great. Here are some that I recommend: Apollo:  AudioStation:  Foobar2000:  Zinf:  And best to last: Winamp. Srsly, it's the best music player out there. Thousands of skins as well. |

The latest version of MPC-HC with classic 3d buttons toolbar and classic 3d menues I found is MPC-HC.1.6.3.5818.x64, which I use as the portable version (.zip-download). Didn't find any separate toolbar, which has the exact classic appearance of good old Windows times.
Another -for me important- advantage is the integration in the explorer context menu for playing entire folders (generating playlists), which is not supported by older versions of classic media player.
Btw, using classic theme by kizo2703 (high contrast).
