Address book (Web.exe) doesn't open correctly and it opens windows 7's contact folder.

i think this is the best option for a classic email client, i link my gmail to this and it works fine

I am using this (or another version I got years ago) on my Windows 8.1 installation so I've been using OE for 20+ years now.
The problem is that I got an E-mail from Outlook saying that they are not going to be supporting older login methods. I am worried that other Email providers such as gmail will follow suit and OE will no longer work with them.
Wonder if there would be a way around this.
Also 8.1 doesn't update every 5 minutes like 10 and 11 and I am testing the waters on upgrading to 11, is there a way to prevent updates from deleting OE?
