Here's a port of a Windows 7 theme I did for my 1703 setup earlier this year. I'd figure it'd be better if they were available, instead of just laying there on my hard drive being useless (given as I don't even use Windows 10 anymore)
I presume you already know how to create a .theme for a loose .msstyles file.
sc35.msstyles is the Windows theme, test8.msstyles is the StartIsBack++ theme.
What do you need to know?
WinTango Patcher:
This visual style was made to go along with the WinTango Patcher (Shiki-Colors Noble, as would be expected), which can be found at: archive.org/details/WinTango-Patcher - INSTALL .NET FX 3.5 BEFORE RUNNING THIS (or use UseLatestCLR)
By default it doesn't change a lot of icons it would otherwise change on Windows 7, you'll mostly just need to change them yourself
You might also have issues getting it to work on 1903 and up because of the .mun files
The reloader will complain about some modified files on every system boot, so just disable it.
The theme itself:
It was made with the mind of the ribbon not being present, so you'll want to disable it with any method you deem suitable.
Use OldNewExplorer, and configure it as such: (the glass option might not be needed anymore)
Do not set the "XS" icon spacing in StartIsBack++
You might encounter minor issues with this theme on newer versions of Windows 10. Do not use it on Windows 11.
Use Glass8 to remove the solid color backdrop from the window title text, or whatever methods there are for newer versions.
It's recommended to install the Ubuntu font family.
Use the shellstyle, and .mui from the regular Aero theme
