Is it possible to port the Microsoft Confidential watermark from pre-release versions of Windows 8/8.1/10 to newer versions of Windows 10 or 11?

Is it possible to port the Microsoft Confidential watermark from pre-release versions of Windows 8/8.1/10 to newer versions of Windows 10 or 11? You can just grab the branding files of those versions and try it.

Why do you want it, it is so pointless For fun, I guess. And because it'd fit with beta setups Is it possible to port the Microsoft Confidential watermark from pre-release versions of Windows 8/8.1/10 to newer versions of Windows 10 or 11? You can just grab the branding files of those versions and try it. The watermark is more than that, it is also a permanent watermark on the desktop that won't go away. It's handled by shell32.dll, not branding. For Windows 10 versions 1607-22h2, it is impossible to bring it back. For Windows 10 versions 1507-1511, as well as 8.0 and 8.1, you can bring it back should you want to, by doing some trickery with swapping shell32.dll with builds close enough. Although as for Winver, you can just edit the dialog for it and add it in, but it won't be colored red, only black.
