Hello! This is my first true post on this forum so sorry if this is a dumb question to ask. Anyhow, I found a weird transformation pack for windows 8-11 where if you put a command into the run box, it makes it look like windows 7. It sounds like a cool consept, but I feel a bit sketched out because it uses startallback, which is paid software. So, is it okay if I ask, what software and windhawk mods it uses? I'm trying to make my computer look like windows Vista. And it manages to make the buttons look like windows Vista/7, even on windows 11 23h2. The pack is called revert8plus. Sorry if it is a weird question, this is my first post here.

Oh, Revert8Plus. I actually checked it out a couple of days ago. Here's the programs I could find: - ExplorerPatcher
- OldNewExplorer
- StartAllBack/StartIsBack++
- DWMBlurGlass
- UltraUXThemePatcher
- PE Network Manager
- Windhawk
As for the mods: Aerexplorer, Bring Back the Borders (on Windows 11), Remove UWP titlebars, Windows 7 Alt+Tab Loader, Aero Flyout Fix, Aero Tray, Eradicate Immersive Menus, Legacy File Copy, Message Box Fix, Multi-instance regedit, No Run Icon Optionally, it lets you install the Windows Media Center, Windows Gadgets and old Windows games. Honestly, it feels a little janky right now, you're better off customizing everything on your own.

I found this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldgMzTQAEc0It surely is kind of tempting to convert your OS to a OS that looks like Windows 7 without the need of doing much yourself (if that's what you want). However, I certainly wouldn't do that because if something goes wrong you'll never know exactly what went wrong and how to fix it, because everything has been modfied automatically so how would you know which modification is the culprit of your problem? it would be very hard to determine. However, if you do everything yourself step by step, you'll notice right away that a problem occurred right after installing this or that and can easily fix the problem by just uninstalling whatever you installed last and ask for help etc.

He needs to credit the tools' authors. I don't like how he's claiming "no performance decrease" where if you run Windhawk there will certainly be some. All the more strange you gotta install it through this weird PowerShell method.

Hi! Developer of Revert8Plus here. Most of the issues that have been mentioned here (such as secure boot) have been fixed ages ago. As for the performance decrease, I never claimed there was no impact. I said that on 8, 8.1, and 10, it will likely have little to no impact, or maybe even a minor boost (since W10's UI isn't particularly fast). On W11, I mentioned that there might be a decent performance gain, or maybe nothing, or maybe a slight decrease. Regarding the powershell issue, that is used because Windows Defender likes to flag apps that aren't signed, and getting a signing certificate is expensive.
