I'd like to use the Classic Theme along with a High Contrast theme as it eliminates the transparency problem and broken Microsoft Office titlebars while having DWM running, but for some reason it keeps reverting back to the default Windows 10 Aero theme every time I log back in from the lock screen (Windows + L). Anybody else encountered this issue as well? I can't even find an actual solution as I've searched elsewhere trying to find something useful which happened to be irrelevant with what I'm having here (I do not use syncing features).

It turned out that I deleted the ENTIRE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes key previously instead of just deleting the DefaultColors subkey. Quickly created a new Windows Virtual Machine and exported the Themes key and imported it into the host machine. It stopped showing the 'Please wait...' screen every time I resume from the lock screen, which would annoyingly change the theme or either Aero or Aero Lite. Here is the Registry Editor file is for reference or check the attachment for those who happened to delete some subkeys in the Themes key, or had deleted the entire Themes key altogether. It's from Windows 10 / Server 2016. Edit: Apparently deleting DefaultColors seems to cause it, not sure why that is. Themes.reg (25.73 KB)
