It might be cool if you could post your modified version.
I wonder if it's possible to edit the application's assembly to remove the extra excerpts of information (bandwidth stuff and the graph) so that it matches more closely.

All I did was replace the icons with the Windows 7 ones, I don't know how to increase the icon size it can use, as of right now only 16x16, any other resolution and it gets blurry/distorted ORIGINAL: www.deviantart.com/laushung/art/Network-Activity-Indicator-205863269(Modified one by me is attached to this reply)

I wish we can have a proper Windows 7-like replacement for the Wireless Networks flyout. PE Network Manager doesn't look good at all, not even under some basic theme setup.

So I replaced VAN.dll and VAN.MUI + the cpl with its Vista Counterparts and ran the run32 command, and I didn't get an error like I did with Window 7s + 8s. (But I didn't use their CPLs, though I doubt itd make a difference lol), Still though, the flyout doesn't work. I made sure in registry it was set to window 8's flyout, aswell as explorerpatcher. I ran the command "Rundll32.exe van.dll,RunVAN" a few times just to be sure. Nothing happens, so im not sure, thinking about trying to edit PE Networks icons to look like Windows 7's atleast.

I took the SysWow VAN.dll from Vista and managed to make it into an executable file, it shows up as "View Avalible Networks.exe" and just opens a command prompt lol Attachments:Van.exe (251 KB)

I wonder if a windows 7 beta version file would work since the os would still be mostly vista.

I've been searching for a solution for years regarding the network. In version Build 8064, I found a file named "VAN8.dll": This file runs parallel to VAN.dll, where VAN.dll represents the Network Flyout (Windows 8), and VAN8.dll represents the old Network Flyout (Windows 7). When I copy the file "pnidui.dll" from Build 8064 to Build 8102, the old Network and Sharing Center opens (see photo). The only problem is that the file "pnidui.dll" from Build 8064 doesn't work anymore in Build 8175. Windows can't start the file, and the field in the taskbar remains empty. The file VAN8.dll is also missing.
Attached is a link to the video: uploadnow.io/s/3b09eb27-d768-43d7-a82a-c6c4eba0a2f3?o=t
I've seen in the forum that there are some very intelligent users. Unfortunately, I lack the knowledge and time to delve into this myself. But perhaps someone among you is interested? If you have any questions, I'm happy to assist.
I downloaded the ISO file from here.
archive.org/details/8064.0.-fbl-eeap.-110806-1000-x-86-fre-client-en-us-hm-3-ccs-x-86-fre-en-us-dv-5 archive.org/details/WindowsServer8build8102x64EN archive.org/details/windows-8-build-archive
The challenge is to get the file VAN8.dll or the file pnidui.dll to run in Build 8175. Then there shouldn't be any issues for Windows 8/8.1/10.
I would greatly appreciate positive feedback and results.
