I have been trying to get this working for months to no avail. So I figured I'll post this on this forum, to see if anyone does know. I know it is possible to get it working because of this deviantart post I found, along with a thread about the Luna theme on 8.x. I really like the UI of the XP version of WMP11 and thus I have been trying to get that specific version to work on new Windows. I'd be fine with WMP10 too. I am not talking about the Vista version! I am aware of that and it works just fine on new Windows with some tweaks. I even have an auto installer for it laying around on my downloads folder. For reference of what I am talking about:  |

Okay, so I think I should give an update on this. I asked dani5ooo if he can share the XP version. 5 days after I posted this he started replying to comments on his deviantart posts, and a few days ago I replied if he can send it to me, nothing for now. I have a new plan, the plan will be to get a manual tutorial on how to get Vista's WMP11 on Windows 10, but replace every file in it to the XP one. And, of course also look at the registry mods it does to the system. If I can get this working or if he can send it to me it will be a dream come true.  |

Yeah it's more easy to install WMP9 than WMP10

Okay so uhh, I installed WMP10 on my main PC expecting it to work fine, however it can't detect most of the music I have in the Library tab and of course registry things are broken.
I found a oneclick installer for WMP10 now, I hope it will work perfect.

I just tried it now, the library now works perfectly. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnyTH6dwKFIYou can find WMP10 DL in the description of this video. Put the media player 10.0.3802 folder to C:\, run setup.exe and let it do its job. |

I found a problem, I just attempted to install Camtasia 2019, but when i launch it it gives me an "unable to start" error. My suspect is WMP 10

Warning  If you change the Dll on System 32 by the old from WMP10 or WMP 9 you will get those problems: -Some Programs like Vegas, Camtasia, and video creator will not working or crashing. -Office 2010 and + will not be enable anymore to save as Video your powerpoint project. |

Guy's, someone on a Discord server found a way to make it work, look at the screenshot, the XP version on WMP11 on Win10, there are still some bugs, but the man is working on it. I can't share it here because that's not my property, but it might release soon

Yes, I saw it on the Windows EXPERIENCE server. From what I saw you need to download a ZIP of the installer for WMP 11 and then use Application Verifier to trick it into thinking it is running on Windows XP. I'm really glad about this discovery and I hope all bugs can be fixed, even though I won't be doing XP setups anymore.
