Copy the following files from Windows 8.0: C:\Windows\System32\PerfCenterCPL.dll C:\Windows\System32\(your locale code)\PerfCenterCPL.dll.mui Export the following registry keys from Windows 7: HKCR\CLSID\{78F3955E-3B90-4184-BD14-5397C15F1EFC} HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\{78F3955E-3B90-4184-BD14-5397C15F1EFC} Run the following command in an admin command prompt: regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\PerfCenterCPL.dll It can be accessed from the icons view of Control Panel. Running the assessment works, however no visual indication is given that it is running. (Check if WinSAT.exe is running with Task Manager if you want to know if it's running)

So could this method possibly (Not the dll above) be used to restore the Action Center/Windows Update From Windows 7/8? I've seen a custom Windows 10 build made to be like Windows 7 with both.
I tested a build of this before, just not sure how this was done lol

I was able to add Windows Update to Control Panel in Win10. Copy the following files from Windows 8.1: C:\Windows\System32\wucultux.dll C:\Windows\System32\(your locale code)\wucultux.dll.mui Run the following command in an admin command prompt: regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\wucultux.dll Export the following registry keys from Windows 8.1: HKCR\CLSID\{36eef7db-88ad-4e81-ad49-0e313f0c35f8} HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\{36eef7db-88ad-4e81-ad49-0e313f0c35f8} I cannot test if it is functional (I have Windows Update disabled on my system)

Using Win 8.0's systemcpl.dll on 8.1 seems to work fine.

Maybe cause originally I thought you meant HKCR\CLSID for the first one

I copied over wucltux.dll instead of wucultux.dll since wucultux.dll didn't seem to exist.
It says "Windows Update can't check for updates because the service is not running. You may need to restart your PC."
Turning on auto updates just crashes explorer.
Update history page is just completely blank, not even "there are no updates to show" just blank.
The windows update service is running and updates through the settings app work fine.
I'm on LTSC 2019 (1809)

How did you replace the left panel on the control panel?

It's better to add in the stuff removed from 8.1's systemcpl.dll back in In systemcpl.dll add this following code after (add it to the UIFILE)
<element id="atom(ModelText)" class="cp_content_text" content="resstr(1575)"/> </element> The code to add is: <element id="atom(RatingInfo)" layoutpos="top" layout="rowlayout(171)" padding="rect(0rp,0rp,0rp,7rp)"> <element class="cp_content_text" content="resstr(1543)" width="150rp"/> <element layout="borderlayout()"> <element id="atom(RatingImage)" margin="rect(0rp,0rp,3rp,0rp)" layoutpos="none" content="" accessible="true" accrole="graphic" accname="resstr(304)"/> <element id="atom(RatingInformation)" contentalign="middleleft" layout="borderlayout()" layoutpos="client"> <element layout="flowlayout(0,2)" layoutpos="left" accessible="false"> <NavigateButton layoutpos="left" layout="borderlayout()" navigationtargetroot="Microsoft.PerformanceInformationAndTools"> <button id="atom(RatingText)" active="mouse|keyboard" class="cp_content_link" layoutpos="left" content="resstr(1544)"/> </NavigateButton> </element> </element> </element>
</element> And, in systemcpl.dll.mui, add the following:
String table 7:
106, "Performance Information and Tools" String table 97:
1543, "Rating:" 1544, "Retrieving system rating" The result will be this: If it doesn't open when clicking the link, change
<NavigateButton layoutpos="left" layout="borderlayout()" navigationtargetroot="Microsoft.PerformanceInformationAndTools"> to
<NavigateButton layoutpos="left" layout="borderlayout()" shellexecute="%windir%\\explorer.exe" shellexecuteparams="shell:::{78F3955E-3B90-4184-BD14-5397C15F1EFC}">
