The question is if it is possible to correct the problem without recompiling. I'll dig into that when I have time.

I seem to have an issue where printscreen will only work on a few apps. The ones I know dont work are steam and discord, some games will have this issue as well though. It does "work" but stuff like sharex or lightshot which I use a lot doesn't work, instead I get the default windows full screenshot to clipboard.

To summarize, here is what I think I will ask Valinet: Make it possible to activate these three features separately: - The ClientEdge in File Explorer - The use of the ButtonFace value color in the taskbar (which uses the patched Open-Shell DLL) - Modification of the icons of open applications (this only works with the labels displayed) As for the changes to the notification area (the frame around it and the clock display), I think it's best to tie it to the color feature, or separate that feature as well). I just asked Valinet to allow to separately configure the functionality of the "Advanced mitigations for correct rendering using classic theme" option : www.elevenforum.com/t/new-version-of-explorerpatcher.1991/page-54#post-224426

Classic Theme seems to be broken on Windows 11 22H2. If you wish to use CT on Win 11, I suggest to stay on 21H2.

Besides, it would be nice to be clearer and above all more precise; what exactly isn't working ? This kind of message only scares users, sometimes unnecessarily.

Well, on 22H2, it does nothing even I logged on. Stuck on black screen. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to run Task Manager and run Explorer, then the desktop will be shown. However, it's not Classic Theme. I checked anixx's tutorial again (especially Task Scheduler and Userinit section) but I couldn't see the problems. It is appreciated if someone could try to reproduce this issue.

This means, the task scheduler service is not running. It sometimes gets disabled automatically if the system crashes, so to avoid crash again. Check if the Task Sceduler service is on.
Even if it is not working, instead of running Explorer from Task Manager, better run userinit.exe. This will launch classic theme and explorer.

Indeed, it is probably a problem with the task scheduler, or simply with one of the tasks. After making sure task scheduler is enabled, if it still doesn't work, look in the "result" section of task scheduler. If the task is correctly executed, the code 0x0 should appear. Otherwise, it means that the task is not running, either because it is disabled or because of a problem.

Task Scheduler seems to be enabled. And I ran userinit.exe but it gave me a same result. Also, I did ViVeTool trick but no changes happened.

(I had to manually enable history because it is disabled by default)

It seems, your task is already running and stuck. Check if classicthemetray.exe is located where it should. Is classicthemetray process running?

It is in C:\Classic.
And I didn't see ClassicThemeTray.exe is running in Processes tab.

Give a screenshot of the task's properties.
And I just realized it sometimes randomly launch with classic theme as expected. (It fails most of the time though)

ClassicThemeTray uses .NET framework and is built for "any architecture". This means, it should be compiled from .NET pseudcode to native architecture on the target system. Sometimes after .NET framework update it takes some time when .NET software on your computer gets re-compiled in the background. If you have a lot of .NET software, your .NET compiler may be overloaded for some time after the update.

There may be a problem with the classic2 task, which causes userinit.exe to start (if userinit.exe does not start, you get a black screen). Maybe providing screenshots of classic2 task properties can help. What is the code of the last execution of the classic2 task ?
