I feel like it's been since there are tabs. I suspected that the tabs would bring problems, my intuition was unfortunately correct.

I get the same thing with Chrome when I open an incognito window, which leads me to believe this new Explorer Command Bar is coded in webforms? Could be some weird metro/UWP crap, though I think the only way to truly test is to see if this bar still works with DWM off. |

It might not work though. I am pretty sure this metro bar is independent of the ribbon. If OldNewExplorer couldn't patch it, the Winaero ribbon disabler won't work either unless if the ribbon is reenabled in some form. Winaero I think does a hard mod while OldNewExplorer does a soft mod (DLL Injection). Also, since the metro bar has the same effects on classic theme as chrome, maybe they used the same code for the tabs and toolbars as Chromium MS Edge does and then just modified it to work in Explorer (regardless if the explorer toolbar is actually metro or not). It's IE + Windows Explorer Integration all over again except with Edge and the Windows 11 Explorer (kind of like the webview pane in 98, ME, or 2000) |

is possible fix explorer on windows 11 22h2 using classic theme? im disable ribbon but not fullwork
on windows 10 run perfect explorer with classic theme
and taskbar using explorer patcher is possible disable labels?
in windows 10 using explorer patcher is perfect with no label screen down, how to leave in windows 11 like this too?
All this is possible with ExplorerPatcher, indeed. Are you using startallback? If yes check if "windows7" command bar is selected here too. |

I copied the dll explorerframe.dll from windows 10 iot enterprise ltsc 21h2 to 11 and explorer does not open after copying replaces c:\windows\system32 dll and c:\windows\syswow64 you do not use the one from windows 10, you use the one from windows 11 21H1 which infact does work as I use it all the time. You only have to replace the one in system32.

thanks perfect now,only problem to solve now that I can't remove label from the taskbar somehow? when I run patcher explorer that label is active and even trying to remove it with programs does not work

Uninstall notepad from the metro settings app and then copy notepad from Windows 10 (preferably 1803 or older) and its corresponding mui file from the locale folder and then paste the exe into C:\Windows and the mui in its corresponding locale folder. But it seems they changed the notepad in 22H2, it is not metro but bugged in the classic theme.

I've consistently activated the Classic theme every single time I try to follow this tutorial, and everything seems to work, EXCEPT for the taskbar... I've reread and followed the instructions exactly, several times, and each time the taskbar remains broken. The taskbar is totally broken, the context menu doesn't work, everything looks messed up, the tray doesn't work at all, etc. I patched the .dll for Open-Shell, I triple checked the Registry entries, nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions? Edit: I'm using Windows 10 Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045  Edit 2: I came across this post www.winclassic.net/post/9518 and it turns out that ExplorerPatcher was not using the correct settings through Registry Editor. I manually edited it like anixx suggested and it corrected the context bar on the taskbar and it fixed almost everything on the taskbar itself:  I was under the impression, based on the OP, that I shouldn't be clicking "Register as shell extension" in EP, but it turns out that it is necessary. Hello rnk, For the currently selected program, I don't know exactly where the problem comes from. Maybe it comes from the color scheme. Can you send me the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors registry key ? For the tray icons, you have to switch to the light mode (in Windows UWP settings). |
