I do have a guide for this. Just make a backup of your data incase Windows 10 breaks... 1. QUIT ALL UWP APPS!! 2. Kill ApplicationFrameHost.exe and rename it to something else in System32. 3. Install some other browser. Preferrably Opera, becuase it doesnt have that many issues. 4. Rename Windows.UI.Logon.dll to something else. 5. Rename SystemApps to something else. 6. Rename dwm.exe to something else. 7. Rename Resources to something else. 8. Reboot. 9. Install OpenShell.

I hate the forced UWP/Metro/Tablet UI in Windows 10, I wish they kept at least the Control Panel.

You would need a lot more than Open-Shell for Windows to be usable with DWM off. If you just want Basic theme, look here instead: winclassic.boards.net/thread/543/using-basic-theme-killing-dwmClassic Theme: winclassic.boards.net/thread/456/reversibly-enable-disable-classic-simple

This IS enabling the classic theme. It also disables DWM. Renaming Resources is more deadly, just use standard WinLogon handles. Disabling DWM is not required, and requires a lot of tweaks to actually be usable and some other applications, more than just Open-Shell. Unless if you are using Windows 8 or 8.1, where even then the logon screen is going to be unusable.

This IS enabling the classic theme. It also disables DWM. Most people on this forum use Classic theme without disabling DWM. If you want to disable DWM, you have quite special needs besides having Classic theme.
