...yeah, that's called restarting File Explorer after enabling the Classic Theme. Thats 1803 but 1809 has a grey area in place of file explorer its utterly broken (( Yeah, that's my point.

Start9 is a great project and i respect it but without having fixed the issue with this serious bug Microsoft brought the programs we use might give us errors as soon as we try to save a file because there is no internal browser Microsoft ripped the heart out of file browsing and saving files altogether. And we cant stay on build 1803 forever , the idea i started to use win10 as day to day os was to use a classic mode os with all its bloatware and spyware that people are complaining about removed which worked fine until this point.

Come on man the reactos devs are the most unhelpful guys i ever witnessed , if they were getting their act together they would at least try to take classicshell and startisback code (by asking its creator) maybe even some 7taskbar tweaker stuff could be made compatible add all that to ros explorer make it look like a classic theme on win7 . But Martin Fuchs who made explorer is not even around the reactos project anymore ... And one more thing the Schemes are not saved properly the reactos desk.cpl wont find any on win10 despite that it has been around from win 1.0 . There is no deployment features on reactos no windowstogo i basically found build 0.3.9 much better then 0.4.9 many things in the os from 0.3.9 are abandoned in the latest build back in the pre 0.3.9 days they got the updates done properly you can go back 3-4 version and see that desk.cpl was partially built but in 0.4.9 there are no bugfixes on desk.cpl it refuses even to load on windows because it has been abandoned and not thoroughly tested A modern os need ntfs but reactos has no such thing because usually we download files that takes gigs of space , there is no way to make a reactos to go the list goes on and on... vs Windows 10 build 1809 the only thing need fixing is to patch the shellstyle.dll even if we are to be using start9 in the future. But Reactos has good things , i always wanted a reactos pc , i even made a theme for classicshell to honor reactos here www.winclassic.net/thread/334/reactos-theme-classicshell . The winevdm is much better then windows own a 64 bit reactos can run 16 bit programs which is superior to the NTVDM (new technology virtual dos machine) winevdm/otvdm is available for windows but it would never be there in the first place without reactos It is free and aiming to become the successor of winodws and share code with the wine project , it can run directx9 and play some games from that era which is cool . In conclusion both windows and reactos have some good things and bad things nothing is perfect. If reactos becomes installable on modern computers i would be among the first to ditch windows 10 and go reactos or i would use both

In conclusion both windows and reactos have some good things and bad things nothing is perfect. If reactos becomes installable on modern computers i would be among the first to ditch windows 10 and go reactos or i would use both The ReactOS team isn't unhelpful. They're trying to make 40 years of kernel work happen. ReactOS will hardly be beta by 2022 at this pace, and that's a good thing. It means ReactOS will get more and more polished as time goes on, and eventually come to a point where Vista+ work can happen. If you want ReactOS to come to fruition, go on their forums and ask how you can help, instead of complaining about how long it's taken or how "unhelpful" they are. Plus, ReactOS won't even come close to total shell focus until the kernel is ironed out. You'll have to live with hacky ways to move around 10 (or install 8.1!!!) until they have the XP part of the kernel done and can start focus on the shell.

I had an idea just now about a potential work around - downloading a 1809 iso now and will test it in a VM to see if it'll work.
What this space (but don't bank on anything, it's just a wild hunch).
EDIT: Nah, I got nowhere. 1809 is still broken with Classic Theme. Pretty sure focusing on shellstyle.dll's removal is a waste of time - there seems to be far more that they've done in the backend that just that.

Maybe the reactos shellstyle.dll works just maybe , sometimes the oldee reactos pre 0.4.0 stuff from tos eork right out of the box before they started corrupting their builds

Well neither the startisback developer nor 7 classic taskbar want to work with this so we got reiku left and his is just alpha and does not work properly the we got that 360 total security addon program called tidy desktop that adds back some context menus to explorer somebody should post the tidy desktop thing only as a temporary fix
