If I need to change a program on File Explorer, I use Types - it adds a new item on the context menu called "edit file type". From there, you can edit what program you want to associate to that file, including what it's icon is, name, etc. It's pretty handy.

Saint Jimmy: hayafumi Not quite, as you'd end up having to replace many a component to get it to function (Explorer is fairly deeply ingrained in Windows's internals), at which point you may as well install 2000 and call it a day.
