Classic theme is now enabled for my computer!

Run the Basic_scheduled_task.bat script as administrator. Make sure it is in the same folder as uxsms.exe and basic.xml.
Normally, this installs a task scheduled to run uxsms.exe on every system startup. If that doesn't work, I'll give you instructions to do the installation manually.
In any case, open Defender exclusion tool, and add an exception to the new location of uxsms.exe: "%userprofile%\TSS\Basic\uxsms.exe". %userprofile% represents your user folder.

Edit 1 (9/17/2023): It did show the classic window style for the first program I launched, but then it reverted back to the modern style. Any reason why this happens? Maybe you can send me a screenshot of your file explorer ? This will help me advise you.  Note that some programs, like my File Explorer window are off key with the classic window style. Still need to get that Windows XP visual style working. As for the files, I have an extra batch file that I occasionally run that fixes the window style, should it get undone. |

Finally got around to updating all the themes! -Removed Fake Address Bar/Go button -Fixed Run dialog to match appearance in Windows XP (use the disable run icon by Aubrey. this can be found in the WinClassic server) -Fixed Explorer List View (Use AereExplorer by Aubrey and select Native View), for Windows 11 22H2/23H2 use the explorer frame.dll by ittr" Credits: Microsoft, Travis winclassic.net/thread/1703/restoring-classic-explorer-proportions-windows(ExplorerFrame.dll for Win11) Directions in the notepad! View AttachmentEdit 1 (9/14/2023 at 1:58 PM): And Windows Defender just removed it automatically. It's a false positive. You can allow it on the device you're using. |

Hii, so I'm having a bit of a problem where retro bar is kinda sitting "behind" open shell, in that when I click the start button on retrobar the open shell button appears on top of it, then I need to press the open shell button to get the start menu, and occasionally retrobar sits behind my open windows like Firefox, any known way to fix that? Or what causes it?

I actually sorted this out and forgot to update lol. for anyone having a similar issue, if you have it set to run in task scheduler on logon, be sure to create a 30 sec delay so open shell opens first, otherwise you will get this issue. |

any possibility we will get this little file explorer context menu sidebar thingy natively in the theme? I know luna10 by vaporvance somehow reimplimented it and i was curious if there was plans to do that as well or in some way port that over? this thing

If you are using BasicThemer from Alcatel then it is a virus, uninstall it from your PC, do a malware check and change your passwords. |

The only malicious thing that Alcatel ever sent was DWMBlurGlass 3.0. Other ones are false positives. So really the only action needed is to switch to BasicThemer6, because even though they are false positives, it's better to use something without detections.

i hope im not late, but you can use FindeXer and this forum post: winclassic.net/thread/1188/bringing-toolbar-section-explore-kindabut it doesn't work properly and is just for show... |
