What would also be nice would be a mode that takes the classic theme mitigations included in ExplorerPatcher, but allows them to be activated separately. Namely enabling ButtonFace color support in the taskbar (modified OpenShell DLL) without enabling taskbar icon changes. By the way, the traditional method of enabling classic theme also can be made into a WindHawk mod.

I hate the forced UWP/Metro/Tablet UI in Windows 10/11, I wish they kept at least the Control Panel.

I hope someone can make a mode that fixes the overflow issue when using two monitors and full sized windows, where the the border at the edge of one screen can be seen on the second one. This issue, strangely, doesn't happen in Windows 11, but does in 10 (and did in 8.1).

So your mod and sct.feh have a common problem. The enter key on address bar dosent work on 21h2 it dosent register when the bar is shrunk. any chance for a fix?

Couldn't you just use a registry trick to enable that on 1607? I thought they removed it later than that.

They removed it in 1607. The last version to support this registry tweak natively is 1511. The only way you can get the classic clock in 1607-1803 is by using StartIsBack++, which is paid software. Even if you do use StartIsBack++ to add it back, there's a glitch where clicking on the clock again after the clock is open causes it to "re-open" the clock instead of closing the clock. ExplorerPatcher (1809+) doesn't have that issue, and I doubt WindHawk will either.

Hello, I have been working on a Windhawk mod over the past couple of days in order to fix ghosting behaviour, and it has now been accepted into the Windhawk marketplace!

DWM Ghost Mods:

This allows you to customise the appearance of ghosted windows, including disabling DWM's custom window frames and changing the frost effect which brightens the window.

You should use this in conjunction with ClassicThemeTray or BasicThemer in order to restore the correct appearance to unresponsive windows. Historically, there has been a problem with these tools where windows that stop responding will continue to use the DWM window frames. This is because DWM manages the ghost copies of unresponsive windows and third-party tools cannot theme DWM's child windows. This hooks into DWM itself to restore the correct appearance.

Notice: This will only work with the standard version of Windhawk, not the portable version. The portable version does not run with sufficient permissions to inject into DWM.

This is tested, and should work, on Windows 8.1 through Windows 11.
