Recently discovered how to apply the "msstyles" everyone was sharing around here, everything is pretty accurate except the font isn't bold like in the actual Windows XP. Any way to fix this? thanks.

Can you teach me how?  Can't remember the whole process but it's something to do with UltraUXThemePatcher and BasicThemer2, basically, if you have a theme called "Bob" and a folder called "Bob" with an .msstyles file inside of it, BasicThemer2 will apply it. You can also use a program called "Remetrics" in order to correct the window size.

First off, the title font is wrong. Use whatever tool (I recommend Winaero Tweaker if you don't already have one) to change the title font to Trebuchet MS, 10pt size, bold. And then, if you haven't already, make sure "Smooth edges of screen fonts" is enabled in the advanced system settings, then run cttune.exe, uncheck "Enable ClearType", and just hit next until it's done. |

On some programs, the fonts are smooth when they shouldn't be  The Luna Blue windows are from my PC, while the Royale windows are from a real Windows XP VM |

Well, there's just one problem with that method... On some programs, the fonts are smooth when they shouldn't be This is not a problem with the method, but the problem with Windows itself. Some system dialogs seem to be hardcoded to use SegoeUI and font smothering at all times since they don't use cleartype for anti-aliasing (a shameful oversight). Disabling the anti-aliasing system-wide still doesn't actually add to visual coherency, since the font itself and its size is wrong. While you can change the hardcoded system font using something like Winaero Tweaker, it still won't let you to change the font size, so raster fonts, like MS Sans Serif, appear broken because the font size is set to an odd number. Tahoma, used in XP, is TrueType, however, so this issue doesn't really apply here, but the font is still going to be of the incorrect size.
Ideally a mod controlling said aspects would solve these issues for good.
