You can use Resource Hacker as an alternative to CustomizerGod thats exactly what i tried, but the icons in there do not appear, even if i copy the dll out of the folder, paste it somewhere else, then try to open that, it still doesnt work, it just shows this:

That's where the icons actually are.

No, it is not possible.Even if you get it working, after you update your install all of the system files you modified/changed will get reverted back to their unmodified state. What is the point?

Some updates don’t revert the changes and anyway Windows 10 is ending support in a year You are talking about WINDOWS UPDATE. One of THE MOST CRITICAL SYSTEM COMPONENTS. Your little explorer icon change staying after one update doesnt mean that you can mod a very important system component and keep it modded like that while and after updating.

I could try to make Legacy Update links for the check updates button, maybe mehraanakbarii can help me find the button in the uifile because he is way more experienced than me at coding.

Windows Update minitool is the best replacement for removed windows update control panel , it has all of old windows update control panel features, you could even add it to your control panel by write a reg file or add it directly in registry using registry editor

If there is I can edit it to make it more like the Windows 7 control panel page

The Developer behind it allows you to install Legacy Update on Windows 10+ to use its website as an alternative.

Sorry I don't have C++ knowledge , this project is C++ based No, I want to find the check for updates button and make it open legacy update It is impossible because even if we could add a button in the page's layout (xaml) file, we require to write code for open legacy update in button's click event handler (a callback function that will called when button clicks)
