New issue, using the Extended Kernel now doesn't allow me to log onto Windows 2000 when I finish the kernel installation. How do I fix this?

Hey. I don't see too much discussion about anticheats, in relation to all the hooks and modding that are needed to use the Classic or Basic themes. The other day I finally got fed up with Win10 interface and decided to do a Classic theme, on my main installation that I use for everything, banking, work, gaming. What I'm concerned about is anticheats. I don't want to take a gamble and get banned for wanting a better looking title bar. I am using Explorer Patcher (with shell extension), Windhawk, modified Quero toolbar and ClassicThemeTray. I play games that use EasyAntiCheat, Battleye and perhaps some others. Since I started using classic theme, I haven't played any online games, partly because the fear.
Am I being massively paranoid? Is this not actually a problem? What are your experiences with anti-cheats? Regards

I have ClassicThemeTray, Windhawk and Quero on at all times and play a game that uses EAC, it doesn't care what you're doing to Windows itself. It only cares what you're doing to the game itself. Stuff like ClassicThemeTray just changes the tilebar used with the game, which the game is already okay with, since it is meant to work with whatever version of Windows you're running and thus won't care about the tilebar. Quero does nothing but affect the Windows Explorer window, which the games also don't care about. Same with Windhawk. So you're good to go on playing those games with those apps running.

Do note that Windhawk always injects itself into all apps, regardless of the mods active. I'd recommend you exclude your game and anticheat in Settings→Advanced settings→More advanced settings→Process exclusion list.

i'm on version 1903 at the minute, just set it up with the aero theme and everything, but i accidentally forgot to disable updates in winaero tweaker, and now windows is constantly trying to get me to upgrade to 22h2, which i don't want to. i've deleted (almost) all of the update files off of my hard drive (there are some nvidia one that complain about being in use), checked the "disable windows update" box in winaero tweaker, but windows is still insistent on me upgrading, both in the settings:
and my start menu:
is there any way to disable these? i know they're not the end of the world but they're a tad distracting nontheless.
any help is appreciated!

My advice would be to remove all permissions from the files wuaueng.dll and wuauclt.exe in System32, as this will stop the system from being able to run the Windows Update Agent or contact the update servers.

ah .. thanks!! I think I will use try the 'classic theme', I tried the 'high contrast' but this messes bad web browsing (google-chrome) even I set the chrome://flags 'Forced Colors' to 'Disabled' , ie incognito mode starts with a friggin white screen + a lot of mess when I use 'dark mode' extensions

bugger... its a nice program, alas win10 only, does not change things like 'file properties' - on that link the 'device manager' is dark, mine is still light-themed even running that app (btw the 'Apply' option is freezing the app, I assume it's win10 only ?

This is normal, the problem is also present in Windows 10. The classic theme is no longer officially supported by Microsoft since Windows 8 (2012), so this problem is normal. It is precisely to remedy this that this forum was created. To activate the classic theme, there are several solutions. I have mine, but I don't recommend it yet, because it's not very stable yet, especially under Windows 11 (I only tested it under Windows 10). Here it is if you still want to use it : github.com/OrthodoxWindows/ThemeSwitcherScriptsOtherwise, here is the solution I recommend for the classic theme : winclassic.net/thread/990/windows-classic-theme-on-1903The only problem with this is that everything is manual (so it is better to be vigilant during the steps), and that some options are not essential. If you use this, perform steps 1 through 7 normally. Skip steps 8 and 9, and just install this version of Open-Shell : ncloud5.zaclys.com/index.php/s/2RL4LpDcZ4Hpmks/download/OpenShellSetup_4_4_191-hlvioynt.exeSkip step 10, and instead use the configuration tool you already use (I told you before). Perform step 11 normally. Steps 12, 13 and 14 are optional (but step 13 is recommended). Perform step 15 as normal. Steps 16, 17 and 18 are optional.

I figure it out its major PITA to have classic theme on 11... MS screwed thme completely as I can see, time to leave them once for all...
