I have found that the default Windows setup is too slow. It is just irresponsive and I cannot for instance use browser when a game is running on the background. Here are some tips on how to make Windows faster.

1. Disable services.

The following services slow down computer A LOT:

* Windows Search

* Superfetch

* FontCache - slows computer VERY much and totally useless!

I also disable

* WMI - needed by AMD Overdrive overclocking utility. Also needed for disabling DCOM (see below)

* wscswc

* EventLog - slows down computer A LOT but is needed for update so I switch it on when updating the system.

* WdiSystemHost and WdiServiceHost - the problem solving subsystem. If there are no problems, not needed

* Upnphost

* PcaSvc - looks at programs and warns if they are incompatible with current Windows. Only consumes resources

* ShellHWDetection - the only function I noticed is the Wiindows logo over system volume in Explorer. Without it all drives have similar icons.

* Server - disabling it really improves security

* netprofm - needed for update only

* NcbService - Metro related thing

* MsKeyboardFilter

* MSDTC

* iphlpsvc - used for IPv6 tunneling if one has no IPv6. I have native IPv6.

* FDResPub

* CscService

* BITS - needed for update only

* AppMgmt

2. Disable DCOM

3. Disable Smart Screen

Smart Screen tries to connect Microsoft when you start any program so to check whether it is good program or bad.
It slows down starting any executable a lot.

4. Use local account. Using Microsoft account slows down my computer A LOT. Just unimaginable.

5. Trminate unneeded threads in Explorer.exe using Process Hacker.

I terminate all those having "immersive", "twinUI" and "uxtheme" in the handle name.

6. Never use sleep mode. After sleep mode the performance of my computer drops a lot.

7. Do not use pagefile. When using pagefile of any size my system becomes very slow.

As a computer technician, I would be pretty hesitant to disable EventLog. If something goes wrong and you can't see the error, it's pretty useful. To me, it's worth it to have if a bit of a cut in performance if it makes things easier to diagnose in the event of something going south. That's just my thoughts though.

As for everything else, I could probably do without a lot of them, but then again that really depends on my system and what I'm using it. But I'd like to know more about a service before I disable it. I would recommend anyone who wants to follow this to look into whatever service you wish to disable and decide if its something you'll actually need (unless it's a no-brainer, like FontCache).

Everything goes well so far. Previously they were automatically activated at random times.

As a computer technician i reduced the winsxs to 50 mb with all shit still functional , furthermore i did disable eventlog as it sends its logs to microsoft eventbroker is off too and deleted

Disabling it makes impossible to login as a non-admin user. Disabling this service increases parformance A LOT.

I always found that windows 10 kept enabling Wuauserv without my consent. So I nuked it. To delete I used sc delete servicename.

I wouldn't disable Superfetch. It preloads data which is used by frequently run applications. Without Superfetch, a lot of applications will need much longer to start.
With Superfetch enabled, it takes about 11 seconds to start Word 2016 (on a virtual machine), without Superfetch it takes longer than 20 seconds.

I wouldn't disable DCOM either since some applications depend on it.

Superfetch very much slowed my system. While Word maybe starts faster, Superfetch still needs time to prepare it, at system startup or otherwise. It slowed system A LOT.

Regarding DCOM, yiou should not disable the service! One should disable DCOM following the linked manual.

Maybe it's because there is something wrong with Superfetch on your computer? Because if it works properly it should speed things up, not slow them down.
And yes, it needs to prefetch the necessary data, but that shouldn't take long, it shouldn't slow down anything to the extent that it's noticeable.

Also if you shut down DCOM the way it's described, it will still render some applications unusable, because they depend on it.
That's why they recommend to turn it back on as soon as you've sorted out the problems.

Another trick i learned i call it cleanboot with sound and wifi in win+r type msconfig normal startup services then disable all reboot you login faster but no sound or wifi so run this reg

Probably a very big bump i made, but in case you use a scanner (which i don't) you can disable Shell Hardware Detection without disabling WIA. At HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\stisvc in the registry, remove ShellHWDetection from "DependOnService". Then reboot.

ShellExperienceHost consumes a lot of memory, it is therefore interesting to disable it.
However, this causes some problems with Explorer, because ShellExperienceHost is the process that takes care of most immersive/UWP applets (tested on Windows 10 20H2).

To this day, here are the solution I found :

Use the Windows 7 power flyout or BatteryMod
Use the Windows 7 sound panel or any other alternative sound flyout
Use the Windows 7 clock flyout
Use PeNetworkManager instead of the immersive network flyout www.winclassic.net/thread/1061/penetwork-classic-mod
Use osk.exe instead of the immersive visual keyboard
Use the Standard menu option from the "right click" box in 7+ taskbar tweaker
Use the EP weather widget instead of the "news and field of interest" widget
Use the ballon popup notification
Use EP simple window switcher or NT window switcher

For these problems, i have no solution for the moment :

The capital / lowercase indication works, but does not appear
The Windows ink workplace does not work
The notification center does not work
The emoji picker does not work

On a fresh Windows installation, disabled, see delete OneDrive is very important. It's really a bloatware.

Disable all skype instance at startup is also important, including the context menu entry : winaero.com/remove-share-with-skype-from-context-menu-in-windows-10/
Skype input slows A LOT the context menu.
