Would it be possible to install it by redirecting the executable the way we do with task manager?

Would it be possible to install it by redirecting the executable the way we do with task manager? Could you elaborate? You can use "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options" in the Registry to redirect programs.
For example:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\program.exe] “Debugger”=”L:\ocation\to\program.exe”

I have an problem with the patch, it seems that the non-English locale wont work with this even with the ko-KR mui files from 1607, it's also with the 21332 consent.exe.
Here is the error code, "The handle is invalid."

For example:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\program.exe] “Debugger”=”L:\ocation\to\program.exe”
Then I presume it won't work. consent.exe isn't responsible for very much and replacing it doesn't do very much other than break the UAC sound.

Does this also bring back the old authentication dialog (for example, SMB shares)? If you mean the following dialog: then no. In fact it completely breaks it (XamlCredUIAvailable = 0), not the file replacement alone. A potential file to investigate to fix this is CredentialUIBroker.exe

Neither me or ephemeralViolette are going to look into this because we don't use anything that uses this dialog.

On Windows 11, it threw this error. Signature of consent.exe affects this maybe? (judging from the error message)

Well, I did replace the authui and wincredui files but without consent.exe because it display an error with "The handle is invalid", but now cmd.exe and powershell.exe not longer starts up.

It is known that this doesn't work on Windows 11 without consent.exe being replaced. Use WinPE to revert the files.

Hi! Me and ephemeralViolette have been in ClassicServ tinkering with system files for the past few hours in an attempt to get the old, non-XAML/DirectUI UAC prompt back, and we did it!
Once you've downloaded these files, follow these steps:
1. Place the system files where they need to go; DLLs in System32, and MUIs in System32\en-US. (If your system locale is not en-US, download 1607 in your language and grab the MUI files from there instead, and of course put them in the proper locale folder instead of en-US.)
2. Import the registry file provided.
3. Make sure that HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\TestHooks\XamlCredUIAvailable is set to 0. This should already exist as a DWORD.
4. Restart, and you should get old UAC UI!
Note that this is slightly broken, as you will see black boxes in many places, even with classic theme. Screenshots of this phenomenon both themed and unthemed are shown below. (This is now fixed.)
Cheers! This works great, and when I made a custom imageres.dll.mun file to replace icons even better.

There is also a registry tweak you need to do manually, not talking about the reg file in the zip. If you dont do that uac wont work.

It would be much better if you included all locales, they all are in the same image. Besides, it maybe dangerous to replace such component incompletely, because you would not be able to change locale without UAC. Often several users use the same machine and can change locale without asking each other. I think you can get all locales by a single command:
copy A\System32\??-??\*.mui B\System32\??-??\*.mui

I've got this problem too. Lemme know if you figure something out. Viewing the certificate information shows it expired in 2021 which makes sense.
